BLACKPINK’s Lisa took a break from her busy schedule to visit Punch the monkey.
On Saturday (March 7), the 28-year-old singer shared adorable snapshots on social media from her trip to Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba Prefecture, just outside Tokyo, Japan.
Punch is a baby macaque who went viral online after being bullied by other apes in his enclosure. He was given a large orangutan stuffed toy, which he now affectionately carries everywhere.
To show her support, Lisa brought her own stuffed orangutan and held it up for Punch to see. In the photos shared on her Instagram Story, the BLACKPINK member flashed a huge grin while wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans, and a light-colored knitted beanie. She also shared cute shots of Punch hanging out in his cage with his beloved stuffed toy.
Lisa has maintained a hectic schedule in recent months and has begun filming a new movie, Tygo, in South Korea.
Last week, BLACKPINK released a new EP titled DEADLINE, marking their first major music release since topping the Billboard 200 chart with Born Pink in 2022. The five-track mini-album features the lead single “Jump,” which dropped last summer and reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, along with “Go,” “Me and My,” “Champion” and “Fxxxboy.”
Last year, the foursome reunited for a sprawling stadium tour, after spending time apart pursuing solo projects. LISA, ROSÉ and JENNIE each released their debut solo albums — Alter Ego, Rosie and Ruby, respectively — while JISOO debuted her EP, Amortage.
